Bred by Leila Grandmange of Grandville Cavaliers, Kali came to us by way of our friend Kim Kaslow
(Ballymena Cavaliers). When circumstances conspired to make it clear that Kali could not stay at Kim's, she
came here on a trial basis. And she never left. Kali is a beautiful, funny girl and we enjoyed having her in our
family. It is clear to us, however, that one should never give a dog the name of a goddess of destruction - even if
that's not what you are naming her after. Kali's penchant for eating (EATING, not just chewing or shredding)
anything fabric gave us much cause for worry. We had many anxious days awaitng the appearance of pieces of
towels, sheets, and once an entire snood, at "the other end". Aside from this worrisome habit, Kali was a joy to
live with. And she was a wonderful brood bitch. She delivered her first puppy (a singleton we named Eve) in a
crate all by herself, without making a sound, in the short time between her dinner being placed in her crate and
our return to pick up the bowl. Her second litter was born a few days early - while we were on the road with
her! Fortunately we were at our good friend Joan's house, which is well equipped for whelping puppies. Kali
never even worried about the strange environment - she just did her job and didn't even mind when we packed
her up with her babes right after the whelping was done and returned home - 3 hours away. This was the litter
which gave us our little Bonnie. We are delighted now that Kali has found a home with Barb and Alexis who
adore her. We hope they have many, many years of joy together.
